Meera Gopalakrishnan serves as the senior vice president and global chief marketing officer
for BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. In this role, she leads the company’s Central Marketing function, comprised of the BD Brand, Global Strategic Pricing, Global Insights, Commercial Data, Digital Marketing, and Strategic Marketing.
She oversees the development and application of comprehensive marketing strategies, building capabilities and effective workflows across the organization through the cycle of innovation, managing the portfolio, enabling omni-channel engagements, and capturing insights -- to transform the customer experience. Furthermore, she will ensure strategic planning at the enterprise level and focus on achieving BD Marketing Excellence.
Gopalakrishnan joined BD from GE Healthcare, where her most recent role was Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of the company’s Advanced Visualization Solutions business. During her time there, she established a strategic marketing framework, spearheaded portfolio marketing, ecommerce, and commercial innovation initiatives to drive customer engagement and accelerate business impact. Prior to GE Healthcare, Gopalakrishnan held multiple leadership positions at Integra Life Sciences and Philips Healthcare in product management, marketing, and strategy to drive innovation, growth, and business expansion.
Gopalakrishnan brings over 20 years of leadership experience and a proven track record of leading growth, empowering innovation, and executing brand transformations. With deep expertise in strategy, product/brand management, digital and omni-channel marketing, she has built high-performing teams, established marketing frameworks, and led disruption innovation deployment to deliver transformative patient care solutions, sustainable growth, and enhanced profitability. Combining a strong technical background with strategic vision and executional excellence, she ensures marketing is a key driver of enterprise growth and competitive advantage.
She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Memphis. She also holds an M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same University. She earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology in Manipal, India.
