Overview

BD CultureSwab™ MaxV and BD CultureSwab™ MaxV (+) collection and transport systems improve microorganism viability during transport. BD CultureSwab MaxV swabs contain a unique blend of nonanimal proteins embedded into the swab fibers, providing additional nutrients for maintaining microorganisms during transport.

Features and Benefits

Improved organism recovery

The BD CultureSwab MaxV system improves the recovery of fastidious organisms such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria meningitidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae, facilitating appropriate diagnosis.1–3

Multiple formats

The BD CultureSwab MaxV system is available with liquid Stuart or liquid Amies media, in single- or double-swab formats, for the transport of aerobes. Additionally, the BD CultureSwab MaxV (+) system is available in Amies gel medium without charcoal, in single- and double-swab formats, for the transport of aerobic and facultative anaerobic organisms.

Nitrogen-flushed packaging

The BD CultureSwab MaxV system features nitrogen-flushed packaging to ensure sterility.

Patented tube design

The BD CultureSwab MaxV system features a patented tube design with a tamper-evident seal and double-action security cap.
