BD Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) proudly received the Singapore President’s Certificate of Commendation from President Halimah Yacob at the National Awards (COVID-19) Investiture on June 18, 2023. This award has been granted to organizations and teams that made exceptional efforts which had a significant impact in Singapore’s fight against COVID-19.
During COVID-19, Singapore was looking for solutions to open its borders (air, sea, land) for business and tourism to flow, to get people’s lives back to normal, and support local businesses. Pre-pandemic, over 10,000 trucks crossed the land border between Singapore and Malaysia daily, transporting essential goods vital to both economies. The Singapore government needed a screening solution for drivers and an approach to share results among authorities, linking data to Singapore’s COVID track and trace technologies.

BD partnered with the Government of Singapore and health care providers to create an end-to-end solution for rapid COVID-19 registration, testing, reporting, and monitoring at its borders. BD’s Veritor™ Rapid Antigen Test was a core technology adopted, providing fast and easy-to-use testing for SARS-CoV-2 in a time-sensitive and dynamic setting at land border checkpoints. The collaboration also included the development of unique workflows and digital connectivity, scientific partnership with academic institutions, and policy dialogue with decision makers on testing strategies. This partnership facilitated the reopening of borders, enabled supply chain continuity, and supported livelihoods and economic activity.
In Singapore and around the world, BD stands ready to provide support and continued access to critical healthcare products during pandemics and into the future.
12 BD associates have also been awarded the Public Service Medal (COVID-19) for their courage and dedication in working hand in hand with the Government of Singapore and health care providers in the fight against COVID-19. They are:
